Live smoke exposed that the post-build denied-path check wrote its own build*_z.bin scratch into the working tree, then flagged them as out-of-scope. Write to $RUNNER_TEMP instead. The transport + guard + gate-skips-on-failure all worked correctly in the smoke; this was the only blocker. 1044 tests, ruff clean.
